The Media Council is the independent regulatory authority for audio-visual media in the German-speaking Community of Belgium and was created following the implementation of the EU directives by the decree of June 27th, 2005.
It is a body governed by public law and has its own legal capacity.
It is the 50th member of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA).
